What is Iran's Fordow nuclear site and why is it so critical to the conflict?

Fordow was one of the primary targets of recent Israeli strikes on Iran and also the main target of the US air strikes. President Trump posted on Truth Social that they have completed a "very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natant and Esfahan." Trump confirmed that the main target was the underground facility in Fordow:

"A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site of Fordow" - Trump added.
