Sadiq Khan has made an announcement on social media after a weekend of violence, saying the capital is "welcome to everyone".
The London Mayor has backed an initiative with an impassioned cry on social media to urge communities to work together and support each other.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the leader said he was backing a new initiative aimed at making people see their similarities, rather than their differences.
London is for everyone, no matter where you come from or what your faith may be—all are welcome here.

But what is Inter Faith Week? Here is everything we know:
What is Inter Faith Week?
It is a week-long event which aims to promote inclusivity around all of London's boroughs.
On the website, it states the aims of the week are to strengthen relations between all faiths at all levels, increase awareness of different beliefs and faiths that are celebrated across the UK and increase understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs.
The event is put on by an independent group, headed by religious leaders.
The Reverend Canon Hilary Barber and Narendra Waghela, who are co-chairs of the Inter Faith Network for the UK said: "Inter Faith Week is a fantastic opportunity for people of all faiths and beliefs to: mix and learn in neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools and universities and other contexts; visit places of worship of their neighbours and find out why their faith matters to them; get past stereotypes and misunderstandings and increase religious literacy; celebrate; dialogue; and volunteer together to help their local community.”
When does Inter Faith Week run?
This week - the event runs from November 12 to November 19 - with a host of events going on across the capital.
