British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful has been named as the UK’s most influential black person.
The Ghanaian-born fashion journalist topped the annual Powerlist poll that was released on Friday and he thanked the organisation for being “so supportive”.
Mr Enninful announced back in July that he would be leaving British Vogue, which he has been the editor of since 2017, in March 2024.
He said: “Ever since I moved back to take over British Vogue, the Powerlist has always been so supportive, always there in one shape or another.
“But apart from me, it’s incredible that it shines a light on black people really breaking boundaries, who are unafraid and champion what it means to be truly diverse in their own industries. So, I’m honoured, more than anything, to be a part of this family.”
Powerful Media's Powerlist is comprised of people who demonstrate the “ability to change lives and alter events, as demonstrated over a protracted period of time and in a positive manner”.
What is Edward Enniful’s net worth?
Mr Enniful has a net worth of £9 million, according to Idol Net Worth.
In June, it was reported that he bought a house in London.
He is staying on with the fashion publication Condé Nast after leaving Vogue. He will also become Vogue’s global creative and cultural adviser and editorial adviser at British Vogue.
Alexandra Shulman had been editor of Vogue from 1992 to 2017, but Mr Enniful is set to have a much shorter time at the helm.
He is married to Alec Maxwell and published his memoir last year.
