Donald Trump was indicted for a third time on Tuesday, 1 August after a grand jury in Washington DC charged the ex-president on four counts related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election and incite the US Capitol riot of January 6.
This comes after he has already been indicted twice this year – first in New York over allegedly falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments and second over his alleged mishandling of classified documents.
