What is Amazon Prime Day and how to get a free Amazon Prime trial

Amazon Prime Day is a huge sale that takes place across the Amazon website.

Now a two day event, Amazon slashes the prices of a huge variety of items for a limited period with many big names like Apple, Nintendo and Playstation being included in the savings. Savvy shoppers wait for the event to bag bargains.

There are often some early deals in the build up to Prime Day. This year it runs from July 11 to midnight on July 12.

How much is Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime costs £95 a year or £8.99 a month. It is still cheaper to pay the full upfront annual cost compared to the monthly direct debit.

Cancelling after the free trial

If you are on the Amazon 30-day free trial and do not want to get charged the monthly or annual fee you must cancel before the trial period ends.

This can be done by visiting the 'Your Account' tab and selecting 'Do not upgrade' before your free trial expires.

Cancelling Prime

If you have already paid and would like to cancel you must select 'end membership'. This will cancel your automatic renewal when your current membership comes to an end.

Prime for students

If you are a student you can get Prime membership for a reduced rate of £4.49 a month for six months.
