'What I like' - Chris Sutton makes 'awkward' Everton claim in Brentford prediction

Chris Sutton has made his prediction for Everton’s clash against Brentford in the Premier League.

The Blues resume their top flight campaign on Saturday as they welcome the bees to Goodison Park. Everton are looking to claim a precious three points in their bid to avoid relegation.

Sean Dyche’s side were held to a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend. That result left Everton in 18th place in the Premier League table and one point adrift of safety with 12 matches left to play.

Sutton believes that Everton will need to rely on their home form in order to avoid relegation. However, despite this, the former Blackburn Rovers striker does not think the Blues will beat Brentford, and has predicted a 1-1 draw.

“This is an extremely awkward game to call,” Sutton told the BBC.

“Everton were unlucky not to beat Nottingham Forest last weekend but Brentford keep on getting good results - they have not lost in the Premier League since 23 October, a run of 12 games.

“What I like about Everton is that they are scrapping under Sean Dyche. They had a bit of energy against Forest, who I find quite difficult to read.

“I know why the Bees are doing well, though. They are well-organised, consistent with their level of performance, and don't concede many goals.

“I have talked before about the importance of Everton's home games in their fight against relegation, because their away record is so wretched, but I don't think they will win every time they play at Goodison Park.”
