What happened when Luis Diaz met Jurgen Klopp after touching down in Liverpool

Luis Diaz has touched down on Merseyside following his move to Liverpool.

The Reds agreed a transfer worth £49m with Porto to bring Diaz to Anfield, with the player putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.

Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in signing the Colombia international, but Liverpool got a deal over the line before the deadline.

The 25-year-old was on international duty with Colombia when completing the paperwork to become a Reds player, and has been forced to wait to meet his new team-mates in person.

That is about to change, however, after Liverpool posted some videos on social media.

In one video it showed a plane landing, presumably at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with Diaz shown exiting the aircraft confirming his arrival on Merseyside.

Then in another video, Diaz was shown talking to both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Lijnders - and getting a hug off the Reds manager - at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby.

It remains to be seen whether the relevant paperwork has been completed in time for Diaz to make his Liverpool debut against Cardiff City in the FA Cup on Sunday.

If not, Reds boss Klopp will hope to be able to utilise Diaz in some capacity when his side face Leicester City in the Premier League on February 10.
