Fans were gutted when Coronation Street legend Ashley Peacock left the cobbles 13 years ago.
The Weatherfield butcher – whose real dad turned out to be Fred ‘I say’ Elliot - charmed viewers with his cheeky chappy looks.
Ashley, who first appeared on the ITV soap in 1995, was also a hit with the ladies, having been married twice on the show.
First to Maxine (Tracey Shaw), who was murdered by Corrie serial killer Richard Hillman back in 2003.
He went on to find love with Claire (Julia Haworth) and they tied the knot in a romantic episode on Christmas Day 2004.
But tragedy struck when Ashley was killed off during the tram crash to celebrate 50 years of Coronation Street in 2010.
Here we look at what actor Steven Arnold, who played Ashley, has been up to since he left the show.
The Warrington-born star is now 48 years old and a director as well as an actor, according to Imdb.
Although he is still best known for starring in Corrie, he got his big break in series Children’s Ward, alongside his brother Kevin, who is also an actor.
Before landing the part of Ashley, he starred in The Bill, Medics, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates and Common As Muck.
Since leaving Corrie he has been involved in dozens of acting projects including theatre, TV and films.
He told the Coronation Street podcast: “Since I left I’ve been doing a lot of stage work.
“My first play was about Les Dawson, called Cissie and Ada, and then A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Darling Buds of May, The Jungle Book. I did a lot of panto as well.
“There were quite a few that kept me going from one job to another. I’ve been very fortunate in that way. It was completely different to what I was used to doing.”
Steven starred and directed the short film Hooked and appeared in movies Womble, alongside Johnny Vegas, This Is Jayde: The One Hit Wonder and short film series Thick As Thieves.
The star has also made reality TV show appearances Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Come Dine With Me.
Ten years after leaving Corrie, he reunited with on-screen wife Julia to tackle questions on Pointless Celebrities.
And he revealed he stays in touch with his Corrie castmates like Andy Whyment, who still plays loveable Kirk on the cobbles.
But he says no matter what he does in the future, his Corrie character Ashley will always hold a special place in his heart.
“He’ll always have a special place in my heart as I played him for such a long time,” he said.
“There’s elements that you miss but you can still put him in characters that you play here and there.”
