What guests will be on Ryan Tubridy's last Late Late Show? All of the A-listers tipped to appear

Bono is among the A-Listers backed to appear on Ryan Tubridy’s last Late Late Show.

Bookies Boylesports has seen a flurry of bets of the A-Listers set to surprise Tubridy to give him a send-off on his final Friday night chat show on May 26.

U2 frontman Bono is gearing up to tell some ‘Stories of Surrender’ when he recounts tales from his book in front of New York audiences this month, but he is being backed to swap the Big Apple for his hometown by the time Tubs takes to the chair for the final time on May 26th.

Beatles fanatic Ryan is also said to have Sir Paul McCartney on his wish list of ideal guests and it’s a 5/2 shot that RTÉ can work it out with the legendary songster to have him in the studio for the farewell.

At 4/7, it’s looking likely Tubridy goes out on a high note with another iconic appearance from Christy Moore, while Katie Taylor is an even money shot to appear on the VIP guestlist that is widely expected to pack a punch.

Barry Keoghan (5/2) and Hillary Clinton (25/1) are in the mix for a return to the couch having previously been singled out by the outgoing presenter as favourite guests, but organisers have their work cut out if Ryan is to do an Oprah by landing the likes of Prince Harry or Meghan Markle (33/1).

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “The Tubs send-off will be one to remember if Bono makes an appearance, but the odds say it’ll be a star-studded green room with or without him and we’ll see whether Ryan finds what he’s looking for by quizzing dream guest Paul McCartney.”

On 21 May 1999, the late Gay Byrne presented his last edition of The Late Late Show.

He was presented with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle by Bono and Larry Mullen, Jr.

In 2019, shortly after Gay’s death, his daughter Crona revealed her father gave the bike up for a raffle and raised €82,000 for Crumlin Hospital.
