Arsenal's Premier League clash with Liverpool certainly met the expectations expected. The Gunners visited Anfield knowing three points would be a major statement of intent in their Premier League title hopes.

Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus put Mikel Arteta's side 2-0 ahead in the opening 28 minutes after a frantic start on Merseyside. Mohamed Salah halved the deficit before a dramatic end to the first half.

Granit Xhaka and Trent Alexander-Arnold were involved in an altercation moments before Salah's goal. Jesus was then on the receiving end of a triple challenge inside Liverpool's half.
