Manchester City defender Ruben Dias has opened up on the rivalry with Liverpool amid the race for the title.
The Reds are battling to win the Premier League trophy with Man City, and are currently one point behind going into today’s match against Newcastle United. This afternoon’s fixture is the first of Liverpool’s final five league matches this term.
As well as the Premier League, both Liverpool and Man City are also looking to find success in the Champions League. The Reds hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg against Villarreal, while City won 4-3 against Real Madrid in their first leg.

Dias, who has only recently returned from a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, has explained how the rivalry between Liverpool and Man City is helping spur him and his team-mates on. City take on Leeds United at Elland Road a few hours after Liverpool’s visit to St James’ park to face Newcastle.
“A rivalry like this is what football needs and what every football fan wants,” Dias told Man City’s club website .
“Just to make the show better and so everyone can just enjoy football the best way possible.
“We are definitely talking about two fantastic teams who are ready to win.
“We are on our side and we are focused on getting what we want. We are focused on winning.”
