It happens to the best of us; you're chatting away to a new match, maybe you begin talking on another platform, whether that be texting or a social media app like Instagram. The conversation is flowing, but suddenly it drops dead - never to be revived again.
Or perhaps you've been on a few dates with someone. You assume all is going well, but when you go to message them, you get no response. A few days or weeks might pass and without explanation, it's like this person has disappeared off the face of the Earth. Only they haven't - in fact, they posted to their Instagram stories yesterday... so why haven't they got back to you? You get the idea.
