This week Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called for “honest debate” on how the UK meets its carbon reduction targets.

Announcing a series of direction changes, the prime minister said we could now afford to adopt a more “pragmatic, proportionate and realistic” approach to achieving net zero by 2050.
