What day does Lola die in EastEnders? Everything you need to know

Lola Pearce-Brown visits Lexi Pearce's school

Much-loved Walford resident Lola Pearce-Brown (Danielle Harold) is set to leave EastEnders after receiving the devastating news that she has a terminal brain tumour.

Since her tragic diagnosis, Lola has married the love of her life Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and has been receiving treatment to try and prolong her life.

But while Jay has been taking care of Lola as her final moments edge closer, the hairdresser was left stunned when her estranged mum, Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) unexpectedly showed up in Walford, before abandoning her once again.

Sadly, a recent scan revealed that her palliative chemotherapy hasn't had any beneficial effect and Lola was given the devastating news that she only has weeks to live.

This prompted Lola to live her final moments to the full, so her husband Jay broke her out of the hospital for one last trip to the seaside and made special memories together.

As we face the tragic death of the fan-favourite in upsetting scenes ahead, fans have now been wondering what day does Lola die in EastEnders?

What day does Lola die in EastEnders?

It has been confirmed that Lola will sadly pass away on Wednesday, May 31 as Lola and her family prepare for her final goodbye.

Recent weeks have seen the brave mum get weaker as her health has deteriorated. Lola's loved ones have been by her side as her final moments edge closer, while her young daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) has been there to comfort her poorly mum.

In the upsetting scenes ahead, the family have been told by the nurse that they need to say their goodbyes but a distraught Jay and Phil Mitchell struggle to say farewell.

Kathy Beale and Callum Highway go into Lola's bedroom to be with her one last time where they promise to be there for Lexi. But how will Lola's final hours transpire for the rest of the family?

As the news spreads that Lola has just hours to live, Queen Vic landlady Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) arranges a lock-in with some of Lola's closest friends to reflect on life and loss and talk through the tragedy of losing Lola to cancer at such a young age.

It was revealed that EastEnders had started filming Lola's heartbreaking funeral scenes. In the devastating pictures, a funeral procession with the hearse and flowers spelling out Lola’s name, was seen arriving on set and messages from Lola's loved ones were written on her white coffin.

Most recently, new behind-the-scenes set images showed a festival-style funeral for Lola, with the Square decorated in bunting and a balloon arch that said 'Lola Fest'.

An EastEnders source reportedly told The Sun: "As photos have already shown, Lola’s funeral will be a flower-strewn affair, with colourful blooms as Walford’s residents show their love for their tragic friend.

“But the wake will be a big celebration of the way Lola lived her life with music and laughter. The whole Square will come together to share stories and it will make for a really touching episode.”

Viewers also had confirmation that Lola was set to pass away before the end of the year when a flash-forward episode saw her photo on the bar of the Queen Vic as the EastEnders super six stood over a mystery dead body.

EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30 pm on BBC One — see our TV Guide for full listings. You can also catch up on episodes on BBC iPlayer now.
