Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo was seen leaving the pitch in tears as his World Cup campaign came to an end in dramatic fashion. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner headed straight down the tunnel as the full-time whistle was blown with Morocco winning 1-0 against Portugal.
The 37-year-old had been dropped once again by manager Fernando Santos after missing their last 16 win over Switzerland. His replacement for that clash, Goncalo Ramos, started ahead of Ronaldo once again after his hat-trick against the Swiss.
The Portuguese superstar did not congratulate the Moroccan players after Youssef En-Nesyri's goal made the difference for the African nation. Morocco will now face either England or France in the semi-finals as their magical World Cup campaign continues.
