What Chelsea star Armando Broja is set to consider in transfer decision amid Arsenal interest

The mother of on-loan Chelsea forward Armando Broja has revealed that first-team football will be at the top of his considerations should he seek a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.

The Albanian has impressed during his time away from the club so far having become a key part of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton side.

He has scored eight goals in all competitions during his loan spell, with his displays drawing considerable transfer interest.

The Saints are understood to want to sign the youngster on a permanent deal, whilst Newcastle United have also emerged as potential candidates for his services.

Now, football.london understands that Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal are also keeping tabs on his future ahead of a possible summer move.

With four years remaining on the long-term contract he penned ahead of joining Southampton once his loan spell expires, it remains to be seen whether Broja or even Chelsea would consider severing ties.

However, his mother Blerina has now suggested that first-team football will be his first consideration when deciding on his future.

Speaking to Albanian outlet Gazeta Tema, she said: "We are used to seeing him being on the pitch [and not on the bench].

"I think it’s very important that wherever Armando goes, he plays on the pitch. For a player, this is very important.

"Therefore, any decision that Armando makes will also be our decision as a family.

"At the moment, he’s doing very well. That’s what really matters."

Broja will certainly be hoping to add to his impressive record this weekend, with the Saints back in action.

They take on Everton at St Mary's, with Broja aiming to start his sixth consecutive league game in a row - the longest such run since his spell with Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnheim.
