What Chelsea fans shouted at pitch invader against Southampton to send Steven Gerrard brutal dig

Chelsea fans were in full voice as Thomas Tuchel guided his side to a six-goal win over Southampton at St Mary's. The Blues, who have now distanced themselves from London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal in the race for the top four, bounced back in spectacular fashion from their disheartening loss to Real Madrid in the week.

Tuchel's side roared back into form as Mason Mount and Timo Werner netted a pair of braces. At the same time, Marcos Alonso and Kai Havertz also etched themselves onto the scoresheet. But Chelsea were far from the most ruthless outfit on the south coast this afternoon.

The travelling support bellowed chants and clever renditions from the terraces as they egged the Blues on to a momentous victory. However, it wasn't until the latter stages of the bout that Chelsea fans showed no mercy towards a pitch invader.

The pitch invader leapt onto the pitch before comically slipping. The pitch invader's moment of ultimate humiliation ignited Blues fans into full voice as they chanted: "Are you Gerrard in disguise?"

Chelsea fans have a long history with Steven Gerrard and have their own explicit chant dedicated to the former Liverpool midfielder following his infamous slip against the Blues in 2014, which cost his side the Premier League. The song is sung to the melody of Que Sera Sera - "Steve Gerrard, Gerrard" - and I'm sure you know the rest.

In his final trip to Stamford Bridge a year later as a player, Gerrard hit back at Chelsea's infamous chant. The Aston Villa boss was met by a standing ovation when he was substituted in the second-half, despite having been berated for nearly an hour or so prior by the Blues faithful.

"I was more happy with the ovation from the Liverpool fans," Gerrard bluntly told Sky Sports in 2015. "Chelsea fans have had respect for a couple of seconds today but have slaughtered me all game. I'm not going to get drawn into wishing Chelsea fans well. It was nice of them to turn up for once today."
