Soccer Aid returns on Sunday with the 11th edition of the popular charity match taking place at West Ham's London Stadium.
Liam Payne's England will take on Usain Bolt's World XI, with the runner returning to the venue where he defended his 100m Olympic crown in 2012. One Direction legend Payne is competing in his first Soccer Aid, aiming to win the coveted prize on debut.
Both teams have won Soccer Aid five times, yet England haven't lifted the trophy since 2018. The Three Lions will be desperate to end their drought on Sunday... and they have some famous faces to call on. Here's everything you need to know about this year's event.
When is Soccer Aid 2022?
Soccer Aid 2022 will kick-off at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 12 at the London Stadium.
The World XI convincingly won the last meeting between the two sides, hammering England 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester last September. A brace from Love Island icon Kem Cetinay and comedian Lee Mack's late strike proved to be the difference.
The first ever Soccer Aid was staged in 2006. England were captained by Robbie Williams and boasted Paul Gascoigne, Bryan Robson and John Barnes in their squad. The World XI had an even more impressive team, with the late Diego Maradona leading their attack.
Other legends from previous editions include David Ginola, Gianfranco Zola, Ian Rush, Roy Keane, Lothar Matthaus, Alan Shearer, Luis Figo, Paolo Di Canio, Jaap Stam, Franco Baresi, Zinedine Zidane, Henrik Larsson, Clarence Seedorf, Edgar Davids and Ronaldinho.
