Down and Roscommon to head-to-head in Páirc Esler, Newry on Saturday evening in a game which could have massive repercussions for both teams.
The Mournemen are in dire need of points to avoid getting dragged further into the relegation mire as they’ve just one point from their opening three games.
That came courtesy of last weekend’s battling 2-6 all draw with Meath in horrible conditions in Navan.
In contrast, Roscommon are seeking to make a swift return to Division One and are unbeaten in their three games to date after claiming wins over Cork and Meath while Anthony Cunningham’s side drew with Clare last weekend.
Down boss James McCartan has received a timely boost with Kilcoo All-Ireland club winners Niall Kane, Ceilum Doherty and Jerome Johnston linking up with the squad while Ryan McEvoy is also expected to return to the county set-up in the coming weeks.
