Chelsea have had a rollercoaster summer transfer window, to say the least.
The Blues have brought Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling to Stamford Bridge, although they have also missed out on targets Jules Kounde and Raphinha to Catalan giants Barcelona. Plenty of business is still expected by Thomas Tuchel's side over the next few weeks, with a number of fringe players likely to leave before the window slams shut on September 1.
One player that is likely on his way out of west London is German forward Timo Werner and football.london understands that despite nothing being agreed as of yet, there is growing confidence that the German can get what he wants in this situation. That will leave Tuchel short of options in attack, especially when you consider that club-record signing Romelu Lukaku has gone back to Inter Milan on loan following a disastrous 2021/22 campaign with Chelsea.
