What Benjamin Pavard has already said on Chelsea transfer verdict as Man United plot £25m hijack

Benjamin Pavard has already dropped a major hint on his future amid growing interest from Chelsea. The 26-year-old defender has been linked with an exit from Bayern Munich this summer amid Thomas Tuchel's search for defensive reinforcements.

The west Londoners have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly, but with Todd Boehly yet to have signed another defender, Chelsea are continuing their plunge into the market to assess their options. And, Pavard, whose contract at the Allianz Arena expires in two years, is said to be in the Blues' sights.

According to French outlet L’Équipe, Chelsea and Manchester United are both keen to sign the France international. However, he's already made it clear as to where he sees his future.

"I don't ask myself where I will end my career," Pavard said, speaking to Rothen s'enflamme. "It depends on my body. I'm 26 years old. I hope I will keep playing for a long time. I like the Bundesliga. We don't know what the future holds for me.

"I didn't win the title in France, I have to win in France. If the opportunity arises one day and I can win in France, why not. I'm open to everything."

Pavard then claimed that he's very happy at Bayern and wouldn't ever consider a move to Borussia Dortmund. The Frenchman said: "I still have two years of contract, I still hope to win many titles.

"I'm very happy at FC Bayern. If I were to move one day, it certainly won't be to Dortmund, even though I respect their fantastic fans. I'm good in Munich. I know Germany very well, I played in Stuttgart, which was a big family with amazing fans. I was a kid and became a man there thanks to them."

Pavard, who is valued at around £25million by CIES Football Observatory, featured 25 times for Bayern in the Bundesliga last season, steering the club to another league title. He's built a healthy reputation for himself on both the international and domestic stage as a versatile defender who can feature anywhere across the backline to an exceptionally high standard.

With Tuchel in the market for a right-sided centre-half as well as backup to Reece James in a back-four, Pavard portrays himself as the ideal wildcard candidate to join Chelsea if, of course, Jules Kounde becomes unavailable. However, it must be said that L’Équipe claim Pavard sees a future for himself at centre-back.
