Voters in Preston have had their say in the 2022 local elections.
Some 17 council seats were up for grabs in the 16 wards including Ashton , Brookfield, Cadley, City Centre, Deepdale, Fishwick and Frenchwood, Garrison, Greyfriars, Ingol and Cottam, Lea and Larches, Plungington, Preston Rural East, Preston Rural North, Ribbleton, Sharoe Green and St Mathews.
The council, which has been run by Labour since 2011, comprises of 48 councillors divided into 16 wards. Each councillor is elected to serve a four-year term, with the elections covering one-third of the seats that take place every year. Apart from one year in the four years when county council elections are held.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 5, with the Preston count expected to take place overnight on Thursday.
