What are the entry requirements for France?
Any travellers who are fully vaccinated and above the age of 12 must provide proof of vaccination to enter France, which can include the Covid-19 recovery and vaccination record that is found in the NHS app.
Several forms of the Covid vaccine are accepted for travel to France, including Moderna, Pfzier/BioNTech and AstraZeneca/Oxford. If you've not had your last dose yet, make sure that you have it in good time before you set off on your trip, as the last dose must have been given at least seven days prior to travel. If you have taken Johnson and Johnson as a vaccine, then the last dose should have been given at least 28 days prior to travel.
Vaccinated travellers may also be asked to complete an EU-PLF form before boarding. This is a digital passenger locator form that will allow for contact-tracing.
Unvaccinated travellers above the age of 12 can still gain entry into France but they would need to provide different documentation as informed by the Government website.
Holidaymakers are advised that if their vaccine certificate has an alternative name to their passport, then they should bring supporting documentation such as a marriage certificate when travelling.
What are the entry requirements for unvaccinated travellers to France?
If you are unvaccinated and over the age of 12, then you must provide either a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours, or a negative antigen test result taken within 48 hours of departure to gain entry to France. The NHS testing service should not be used for tests required to enter other countries. A private test from a private coronavirus testing provider must be accessed with the results approved by a private test provider.
Unvaccinated travellers may also be asked to complete the EU-PLF form before boarding as listed above.
All children under the age of 12, regardless of their vaccination status, are exempt from all Covid-19 travel restrictions for entering France.
