It’s Easter Sunday, and for those of you who have left your food and gift shopping until last minute you may spend today a bit disappointed.
Many shops limit their opening hours over the Easter weekend, oftentimes to give staff a well-deserved break. But on Easter Sunday (April 9), certain stores must close by law.
Government guidelines around trading for retailers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland state any shops larger than 3,000 square foot must be closed on Easter Sunday (April 9), so all major stores will be shut.

Supermarkets including Aldi, Asda and Tesco will be closed on Sunday, as well as IKEA, B&Q and John Lewis stores. It's the same case for popular shops B&M, Home Bargains and Wilko.
The Mall at Cribbs Causeway will also be closed today, but will re-open at 10am tomorrow morning (Monday, April 10) and remain open until 7pm.
Shops at Cabot Circus will also be closed today, but according to its website dining and leisure options - such as the cinema - will be open.
Sainsbury's has confirmed that it will be closing stores on Easter Sunday and discount supermarket Aldi has also revealed that it will close all 890 of its stores in England and Wales on Easter Sunday, too.
