Now you’ve seen the Champions League draw what chance do you give Rangers progressing from Group A alongside Liverpool, Ajax and Napoli?
CRAIG SWAN: Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his team have a tough one. They are outsiders to progress, but nothing seems impossible for them in Europe these days.
MICHAEL GANNON: It’s a pretty tough section for Rangers. Liverpool should coast it but they can be in the fierce fight for the second and third places. Either slot would be a success.
FRASER WILSON: Liverpool is box office. But all in all Rangers must fancy their chances against an Ajax side in transition and Napoli who blow hot and cold. It’s really tough but with the results Rangers have produced in recent years you wouldn’t write them off.
Likewise at Celtic, can Ange Postecoglou’s side take a top two spot in among Real Madrid, Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk in Group F?
CRAIG: SWAN Real Madrid are clear favourites to win the section. Celtic are underdogs to get through, but can have a go and make third.
MICHAEL GANNON: Celtic couldn’t have asked for much more. Real will bring the glamour and they’ll cruise to the top but the other sides give Celts hope. This could be a cut throat section where eight points is enough. Like Gers, even third spot would be good.
FRASER WILSON: Again outside the glamour tie against the European champions should Celtic really be fearful of Leipzig side that finished fourth last season and has yet to win after three games? The two games against Shakhtar could be key.
Hearts will have to make do with a spot in the Conference League but was Thursday a missed opportunity against Zurich or is this their level?
CRAIG SWAN: This is better. The prize money is not that much different for qualification and points and Hearts have more chance of winning games in the Conference.
MICHAEL GANNON: They will be kicking themselves – and rightly so. Zurich were okay but this was a great chance. Hearts will be more competitive in the Conference but the Europa League is where they want to be.
FRASER WILSON: The fact they’re in it shows it’s their level but it could have been better and Jorge Grant has unfortunately dropped his team mates in it with his daft second yellow. Thankfully the Conference League should still bring some Euro glamour to Tynecastle.
Alfredo Morelos is back on the naughty step at Rangers. Is his time up or do you expect him to fight and reclaim his place as the number one striker at Ibrox?
CRAIG SWAN: Who knows? Rangers should dump him. Eindhoven proved he’s not needed. Get someone in who guarantees 100 per cent effort every day.
MICHAEL GANNON: Morelos must be running out of lives at Ibrox. He pushed Steven Gerrard to the brink on a couple of occasions and now he’s doing the same with Van Bronckhorst. Clubs are clearly reluctant to come in so it’ s up to him what happens next.
FRASER WILSON: With a year left on his contract it’s last chance saloon if he wants to stay. Morelos has never tasted Champions League football so there’s no better carrot to knuckle down and get himself fit. It’ll be interesting to see if Gio van Bronckhorst has the same patience as his predecessor.
