Seventy-three years after two men stood on top of Everest, Apple is releasing the film that reorders the billing on that achievement. "Tenzing" opens in select theaters on October 9 before landing globally on Apple TV on October 16, with a deliberately narrow theatrical window.
The timing is strategic. The film world premiered at Telluride in early September, played Toronto on September 15 with a gala at Roy Thomson Hall attended by nearly the entire cast, and on September 24 it opens the Zurich Film Festival, where Hiddleston, Dafoe and director Jennifer Peedom are expected on the green carpet.
