What Antonio Conte did after nearly missing Son Heung-min's second goal for Tottenham vs Norwich

Antonio Conte had described Tottenham getting into the top four as a miracle, but it was one that became a reality on Sunday. Spurs needed just a point from their trip to Carrow Road, to secure Champions League football and they did more than enough.

The Lilywhites fired five into the back of Tim Krul's net, with the game ending in a 5-0 victory. Tottenham could've won by even more, with them having 13 shots on target, against Dean Smith's side.

After the clash, Conte spoke on his side securing a top-four finish. "We are enjoying a lot what we did and for me I didn't lift a trophy this season like in the past but if I have to be honest and see the path and the difficulty to come in since November in a difficult situation with a team that was struggling a lot in a difficult league like the Premier League," the Italian admitted.

"It's very very difficult - to reach a place in Champions League I have to consider this a really big achievement for me and for my players, and also for the club consider this a big achievement after three years Tottenham is able to play again in Champions League. For us, it's very important because the best players, the best coaches want to play in this competition, for this trophy. We must be pleased for what we did."

As ever, Conte's passion was clear to see, as Tottenham ended the season on a high and football.london takes a look at what the 52-year-old did, during his side's final fixture of the season.

Passion until the end

Since his arrival, the Italian has shown his passion on the touchline, throughout Spurs games. Conte's animated gestures and shouting helps, giving his side instructions, no matter what the scoreline is.

This was no different in Tottenham's final match of the season, against an already relegated Norwich side. Throughout the game, the 52-year-old was pointing and shouting, even when the goals started to tally up.

Conte's reaction to his side's first and second goal were very similar, cheering and with clenched fists, as he hugged his coaching staff in the dugout. After the second goal and as the game kicked off once again, the Italian tapped either side of his head, as if to signal to his players to keep their concentration.

Even though Spurs were 2-0 up, the Italian knew it was no time to get complacent. However, the Lilywhites didn't sit back and went on to score another three goals, before the 90 minutes were up.

Moment Conte nearly missed

Dejan Kulusevski made way for Lucas Moura in the 68th minute of the game, after the Swedish international had produced another solid performance and scored two goals. It took the Brazilian just two minutes to make an impact, as he received the ball from Harry Kane, on the edge of the box.

Moura then tapped the ball to Son Heung-min as he turned and the South Korean knocked the ball past Krul and into the back of the net. However as the buildup to the goal was going on on the pitch, Conte was preparing Steven Bergwijn to come on.

The Italian must have heard the excitement from the fans because just as Son launched to take a shot, the 52-year-old turned back to face the pitch, to watch the ball go into the back of the net. Conte then jumped around and celebrated with his staff, before making the double substitution three minutes later.

Celebrations with his players

It was a great day for the Tottenham squad, staff and fans and this created an electric atmosphere before, during and after the game. Spurs didn't just win 5-0, there were some spectacular goals scored by both Kulusevski and Son.

Going into the game, the South Korean was a goal behind Mohamed Salah, in the race for the Golden Boot award. The Egyptian didn't start for Liverpool against Wolves, giving the 29-year-old a boost.

Son took his opportunity and scored his first goal in the 70th minute, taking his side 4-0 up. It was then just five minutes later that the forward scored his second goal of the game, Tottenham's fifth, taking him to the top spot for the Golden Boot.

This caused big celebration from the fans and the Spurs players went over to celebrate with the supporters, lifting the South Korean up. During the second half, the game had stopped and players were grabbing a drink, which gave Conte the chance to usher Son over and give him a big smile and a hug.

The Italian was also full of celebration when the South Korean scored his second goal of the game, holding up his fingers to indicate the 23 goals his attacker had scored. Unfortunately, Salah's substitution in the 58th minute was followed by his 84th-minute goal to put his side in front.

Son then didn't manage to score another before the final whistle. However, the duo shared the Golden Boot and it meant the 29-year-old still got the recognition he thoroughly deserved.
