Andy Robertson has revealed what happened with Darwin Nunez at half-time during Liverpool’s win over Ajax.
The Reds beat the Eredivisie giant 3-0 in their Champions League Group A clash, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott. The result means Liverpool have reached the last-16 of the competition with a match to spare.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will now face Napoli in their final Group A fixture at Anfield next Tuesday. Liverpool will need to win by a four-goal scoreline in order to finish top spot to overcome the 4-1 defeat they were handed in Naples in September.

Nune’s goal came courtesy of a Robertson corner just a few minutes into the second half. Shortly before the interval, the Uruguayan missed a relatively easy chance to put Liverpool 2-0 in front, and Robertson has explained how the striker reacted in the dressing room.
“We had control. Darwin came in at half-time really angry at himself for missing that chance,” Robertson told BT Sport.
“I was sitting next to him in the changing room, I don’t know if he understood what I said but I said I’ll put a cross in and you will score no problem. Maybe I need to say that more often.
“When we got the second goal obviously a two-goal cushion is dangerous but it’s also nice, and we followed that up with a lovely goal from Harvey.”
