The new Chelsea ownership have taken a huge stance towards recruitment since taking over the club last year. A push to sign players took last summer's transfer total to £250million spent, while January has seen them pass the £150million mark with a week left to go.
A large portion of the incomings have been centred around the idea of signing young stars that could go on to be some of the best players in the world one day. For that to happen, there must first be patience in the fact that this process is only just beginning, meaning it will take time to embed as well as the players taking time to improve.
However, the initial signs of some of the youngsters proves promising, with a number of cameos in the first-team at this stage of the season. One of those that may take some more time before featuring for the senior side is Andrey Santos, who signing from Vasco de Gama.

"It’s a very big opportunity for me," Santos said in his first interview since joining the west London club for £13million in January. "This is a big club playing in big competitions like the Premier League so I am very excited. The players here are so good and I am very happy to be here."
The Brazilian wonderkid has since shown his ability on the international stage, scoring a brilliant solo effort for his nation's Under-20s side against Argentina in the Under-20s South American Championship. The youngster showed a burst of pace to latch onto the ball in midfield, driving past three players to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper, dispatching his effort after.
It remains to be seen if he can kick on and reach the expectations set of him, however the early signs are promising and suggest the Blues could have a gem on their hands.
