It turns out the latter actor was pitched for his return or years, and it took RDJ to convince him to finally bite the bullet.

During a conversation with EW at San Diego Comic-Con, the Captain America icon spoke about how the studio tried to convince him to pop up in upcoming Marvel movies. In his words:
