Ben Chilwell looked set to be one of Europe’s leading left-backs at the start of the season. His electric down the left-hand side enabled Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side to look like early contenders for the Premier League.
Having missed a large chuck of the season through injury, however, the England left wing-back’s return is highly anticipated. Marcos Alonso has been in relatively strong form for Chelsea following Tuchel’s experimentation period post-Chilwell injury, but few could argue that Chilwell’s return would make them a better team.
Having recently posted a picture on Instagram in training, Ben Chilwell has excited players and fans alike.

Both James Maddison and Kyle Walker-Peters expressed their desire to see him back, as did his former Blues teammate Tammy Abraham, who himself has had an outstanding season for Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.
Mason Mount, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Billy Gilmour also shared their excitement for Chilwell’s return. For Chelsea, Chilwell would be like a new signing and, if he is able to find the form he was in at the start of the season, then Chelsea will be confident that they can return to Premier League-challenging form.
