It will also be Kilkenny legend Henry Shefflin's first inter-county Championship game as a manager after he was named Galway boss last October.
Meanwhile, Darragh Egan will lead Wexford into battle in this year's Championship after replacing Davy Fitzgerald as the Yellowbellies' boss.

RTE pundit Ursula Jacob: “Coming into the Waterford game everyone was saying how much Wexford were flying in the League.
“They did have some positive performances, and I suppose it was a little bit of a reality check then when they lost to Waterford and then very worrying how easy Waterford got some of their goals and scores, so I don’t think we should jump the gun and say Wexford are the worst team in the world after one game.
“But they definitely have a lot to prove coming into the game against Galway. They have Galway and Dublin at home in the first two rounds at Wexford Park and you really have to realistically be looking at getting a win in at least one of those games.
“Wexford do find it difficult to beat Galway, their record against them wasn't great in the Championship for the last few years but I think if we can get back to some our better performances from earlier in the League and then incorporate the likes of Lee Chin back into the team; because obviously he’s a huge player.”
