Wexford GAA have announced that John Hegarty will be the county's new senior football boss.
The County Board released a statement on Saturday afternoon confirming the move with Hegarty set to be confirmed on 20 September.
And the appointment will likely be a popular one with Hegarty playing some 105 times for Wexford and won six Senior Football Championships with his club Kilanerin as well as one as a manager.
In a statement, they said: "Wexford GAA are delighted to announce that we will be proposing John Hegarty as our new Senior Football Manager for ratification at the County Committee meeting on 20 September 2022.
"John’s backroom team will be finalised in advance and announced at this meeting also."
