Cheap food, quick service, and two-for-one pitchers - you know exactly what you’re getting when you visit a Wetherspoons. Luckily, in Bristol you’re never far away from one either.
A trip to Spoons is pretty standard - you find your table, order at the bar or on the app, and then wait for your food to arrive. But some people’s experiences of the pub chain in Bristol aren't so straightforward.
From complaints about the pub not serving glasses of milk at 10pm, to not being able to gain entry to ‘Curry Club’ - we’ve rounded up some of the most ridiculous Google and Trip Advisor reviews of Wetherspoons in Bristol.

The Knights Templar
Don, who visited the Knights Templar in Temple Quay, could not understand why he couldn’t gain entry to the Spoons ‘Curry Club’. He wrote: “It was advertising a Curry Club and I asked the bar staff how I could gain membership, but the staff member kept saying it is not a club.
"However, I then showed the staff member the notice that was on the table adverting the Curry Club but the staff member just looked at me like I was stupid and didn't give me any of the membership details I needed. Why is this pub not allowing open membership of the club yet clearly advertising it? Not happy.”
Lloyds V-Shed
James was baffled he couldn’t order glasses of milk from Lloyds V-Shed on a night out. He said: “We ordered five glasses of milk at 10pm and they presumed that it was a joke, so they didn’t even attempt to serve it. We were not amused. They even refused to exchange it for another drink.”
Meanwhile Martin complained the harbourside pub was “too loud.” He wrote: “We chose this as we thought you can't go wrong with a Wetherspoons, well on Wednesday early evening we did.
"It was very loud indeed although not busy. We found an upstairs table, chose our food and ordered from the downstairs bar. Would we go back again yes but not too this venue as it was just too loud.”
The W.G Grace
Lucy was put off by the kitchen staff’s attire. She complained: “The floor length aprons the kitchen staff wear put me off a bit. One star, would probs come again though.”
Meanwhile Will was annoyed he didn’t get his three plates of pigs in blankets. He wrote: “Smashing little pub, I come here for a cheeky pint on a regular basis but was disappointed when I ordered three plates of pigs in blankets and they only bought one.
"Halfway through writing this I used the drinks app to order a shipyard pale ale and no word of a lie they brought me a thatchers gold. I'm not a fan of cider but at least it was a cool one to enjoy with the lads.”
Commercial Rooms
Allan gave the pub a one-star because there was someone vaping next to him. “Someone was vaping on the next table and it made me choke on my food,” he complained.
Meanwhile 'elevenelevencornish' complained on Trip Advisor about the pub being “too busy.” They said: “Very busy...tables not being cleared very quickly.
"Tables very close to each other. Was going to eat but felt too rammed. Will try again when not so busy.”
