Wet UK weather to make way for 26C sunshine ahead of bank holiday

  • The first half of the week is expected to be changeable and unsettled, with sunshine and showers, some heavy with thunder, and initially subdued temperatures.
  • Temperatures will begin to climb from Wednesday, with the south of England potentially reaching 20C.
  • By Thursday and Friday, conditions are forecast to become increasingly drier and brighter, particularly for England and Wales, with maximum temperatures possibly reaching 26C on Friday in the south east.
  • The bank holiday weekend is anticipated to be warmer than recent weeks, with the best sunshine expected across England and Wales.
