Tottenham fans have suggested that Weston McKennie's recent Instagram stories could be a hint at what's to come for the USA international.
The current Juventus midfielder has been a name linked with Tottenham in a number of transfer windows and the Lilywhites welcomed two of his former teammates to N17 on Monday's deadline day.
McKennie has made 17 Serie A appearances so far this season, scoring three goals for his side who currently sit fifth in the league.
Spurs have been linked with the 23-year-old for a while and in August last year, football.london reported that there was a chance of a potential swap deal involving Tanguy Ndombele.
Whilst the Tottenham midfielder saw his exit back to his former club Lyon on deadline day, with an attached fee of £1.18million and an option to buy, McKennie has stayed with the Italian club - for now.
Last week, football.london reported that Fabio Paratici is very fond of the midfielder and it was understood that he had spoken to McKennie's representatives during the January window.
However, Massimiliano Allegri was believed not to be keen on losing one of his key players during the season.
Instead, Tottenham got Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from the Italian side, who Antonio Conte will hope can add some much-needed creativity for his current side.
Kulusevski has joined the north London side on an initial loan deal, with an option to buy, if certain criteria are met during the 18-month loan.
Once the Juventus duo's departure was announced, McKennie took to Instagram to give them his best wishes, as they make the move to the capital.
For the Swedish international's goodbye, McKennie said: "Good luck homie imma miss you."
However, when it came to the message for Bentancur, the midfielder wrote: "Wish you all the best bro. You and kulu take care of each other!! See you soon."
Some fans are now looking at the 'see you soon' as a hint at a potential move for the US international during the summer transfer window.
Former Tottenham shot stopper Brad Friedel has previously praised the 23-year-old.
"Weston McKennie could play at any club in the Premier League right now," Friedel said last year. "He [McKennie] has that style of play, he's very physical, he's very fast, he's good in the air, good with his feet. He is a real talent."
The midfielder has a current market value of £22.5million, according to Transfermarkt and depending on how the two new additions do in Conte's squad, McKennie could once again be a target in the next transfer window.
The US international first went on loan to Juventus in 2020, whilst Paratici was still working with the Italian club.
With the 49-year-old now in N17 with McKennie's two teammates, who knows what could happen if an offer of a move was given to him during the summer.
