Westlife’s Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne FaceTime boyband’s ‘oldest fan’ on her 101st birthday

Westlife’s Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne surprised their oldest superfan, Edna Warner, by sending her a video message and giving her a FaceTime call on her 101st birthday.

Staff at Woodland View Care Home in Droitwich, Worcestershire threw Warner a Westlife-themed tea party to celebrate her big day on Saturday.

They decorated the walls with photos of the Irish boyband along with a sign which read: “Westlife’s biggest fan”.

To top things off, they managed to honour the centurginarian’s wish to get a special message from her idols, in particular her favourite member, Mark Feehily.

Feehily sent her a special video message thanking her for her support and wished her “lots of love”.

He said: “Hello Edna, how are you doing? It’s Mark Feehily here and I hear that you’re a little bit of a Westlife fan.

“I hear that you have celebrated a fantastic 101st birthday. Wow, that’s amazing.

“I can only hope that I get anywhere near that myself.

“I think you’re in the newspapers and everything so you must be having a great time.

He continued: “I just wanted to send a message saying hello and sending lots of love and thank you very much for all the support and once again happy birthday and I hope you’ve celebrated in style.

“Once again, lots of love. Bye Bye."

She then got a FaceTime call from Byrne who she proceeded to give advice on how to live to her old age.

“Just behave yourself and do as you’re told,” she said.

To which he replied: “So, I just need to behave myself? Not eat healthy or anything – just behave myself.

“That is some really good advice.”

The mother-of-three said she has been a Westlife fan for a “very long time” and discovered them on the radio many years ago.

Her favourite song is You Raise Me Up and she enjoys watching their Wembley tour videos in the cinema room at the care home.
