The Sydney Roosters have bolstered their outside backs on the eve of a push towards the NRL finals by loaning Oliver Gildart from the Wests Tigers until the end of the season.
The Roosters, who face Brisbane, North Queensland, the Tigers, Melbourne and South Sydney over the last five rounds, sit eighth on the ladder and with Canberra and Manly on their tail they are at risk of missing the top eight for the first time since 2016.
Gildart hasn't been seen in first grade since round nine and his move from Wigan to Australia hasn't been the success the Tigers were hoping for.
The three-cap England centre has been linked with a move to the Dolphins for 2023 but the Tigers said in a statement that he would return there to play under incoming head coach Tim Sheens next season.
"This works for Oliver, and it works for us as well," said Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe.
"Oliver will return to us after this short loan and begin preparing for 2023."
Meanwhile, the Gold Coast have added backrower Klese Haas, the brother of Brisbane prop Payne, to their top-30 squad.
