West Lothian zoo gives a home to Russian bear who was kept as a pet and fed milk

A Russian bear who was kept as a pet and fed milk, water and bread has found her forever home at a West Lothian zoo and will arrive to Scotland in the coming weeks.

Byara the Russian bear will be homed at Five Sisters Zoo in West Calder when she is flown into the UK from Belgium.

After veterinary inspection it was clear the bear could not be returned to the wild due to the fact she weighed approx 20kg.
