West Lothian stops to mark a year since Russia invaded Ukraine

People across West Lothian observed a moment of silence this morning to mark a year since Russia launched its illegal war in Ukraine.

Today is the first anniversary of Russia's illegal war against the country and people in West Lothian have been showing their solidarity with Ukrainians.

A moment of silence was observed in West Lothian and nationally and the Civic Centre will this evening be lit up yellow and blue - the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: "This is a moment to reaffirm our our unwavering support for the people of Ukraine.

"The national flag of Ukraine continues to fly outside West Lothian Civic Centre. The Civic Centre will also be lit in the colours of the Ukrainian flag this evening."
