West Lothian man hospitalised with fractured cheek in 'random attack' near club

A man was rushed to hospital with a fractured cheek after being punched in the face during an alleged ‘random attack’ outside a nightclub in West Lothian.

The 24-year-old required immediate medical attention following the incident in Livingston last weekend.

Onlookers watched in horror as the victim, who was standing in an outdoor smoking area at the time, was violently struck and knocked to the ground in the reported assault.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Carmondean Central Road before transferring the man to a local hospital for further treatment.

The assailant is said to have quickly fled the scene following the incident.

Police Scotland has since launched a bid for anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward and share information with officers.

The attacker is described as being white, in his late 20s to early 30s and around six feet in height with a medium build.

He was said to be wearing a khaki-coloured jacket at the time of the incident.

Detective Constable Adam Gow said: “This appears to be a random attack on a young man on a night out.
