A man has been rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' following a one-vehicle collision on the West Lothian M9

Police have confirmed the road re-opened shortly before 4pm following the crash on Thursday morning which saw a van overturned between Linlithgow and Newbridge.

Police and ambulance crews rushed to Junction 2 of the M9 shortly after 9am on Thursday morning with images showing the eastbound carriageway blocked off by police and a damaged grey van at the side of the road which appeared to have crashed.

A crew from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also present at the scene, and an appeal has been launched by Police Scotland asking those who may have seen the incident to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving one vehicle on the M9 at Junction 2 around, 9.15am on Thursday, 22 December, 2022.

“Emergency services are in attendance and road closures are in place.”
