Motorists may be faced with delays on Friday afternoon after two separate collisions on the busy M8 in West Lothian.
Traffic Scotland alerted motorists to the first crash around 11:45am on Friday, July 8, issuing an update saying that the M8 westbound at junction 3A is blocked and consequently closed around 20 minutes later.
They added that traffic in the area is very busy and delays of at least 20 minutes can be expected for those in the area.

A second update read: "UPDATE: 12:05 #M8 CLOSED Westbound at J3A due to a collision. Traffic heavy on the approach- Approx. 20 minute delay."
The collision took place between Bathgate and Livingston, with traffic being further hindered by a second collision on the same road on the eastbound section between junction J4-3A.
Traffic Scotland updated motorists, saying: "NEW 12:14 #M8 Restricted Eastbound between J4-3A due to a further collision. Traffic beginning to build on the approach with a full closure Westbound."
Pictures in the area of both collisions show traffic starting to mount on the busy bypass, with tailbacks expected to start forming while both incidents are dealt with.
