West Lothian Love Island star Paige Turley 'breaks silence' on social media after surgery

West Lothian Love Island star Paige Turley has 'broken her silence' on social media with an advertisement post, after taking a break from the screen as she underwent surgery in May.

The first ever Scottish winner of Love Island has been somewhat anonymous online in the last few weeks, which cleared up earlier this month to being down to her minor surgery recovery.

As reported by Edinburgh Live earlier on in May, Paige had fans worried after she was absent from social media for a few weeks, and then reappearing in a hospital gown.

The reality tv star posted a picture of herself in a hospital gown and a 'Yoda' filter, after receiving what she has claimed was "minor surgery".

In the caption, the star wrote: "Had a few messages asking if everything is ok as we have been a little quiet on socials this week.

"Just a little update, I had to go in for very minor surgery so I'm currently on bed rest whilst Finn plays nurse."

The 24-year-old didn't seem unlike herself as she joked about with the situation, also writing: "Can you hear that? Just a tiny violin being played."

And now, Paige has returned to social media on a more positive note, as her and beau Finn Trapp recreated an iconic Scottish statue to promote the new series of Love Island.

Writing on Instagram, the ITV2 beauty said: "eeeee guys.. @loveisland is back on our screens on the 6th of June and to celebrate, the show is making some BIG statements proving they own love this summer!

The pair recreated an iconic statue in Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station. (Instagram)

"They have gone up and down the UK and taken over some romantic statues to prove it. That’s why we have transformed into the ‘Wincher’s Stance’ statue in Glasgow.

"We’ve replicated the statue to help show what love really looks like and prove Love Island really is the OG of dating shows.

"The countdown for the next series really has begun - will you be watching?!"

The photo depicts the pair standing next to the real statue, painted in bronze and imitating the pose of the 'Winchers'.

Paige and Finn won the Winter version of Love Island in 2020, and they will both be rooting for any Manchester and Scottish stars to continue their legacy on the show.

Love Island will return to ITV2 on June 6, at 9pm, for a whopping hour and 35 minutes - so get your alarms set for the biggest TV event of the summer!
