Following the stormy weather this morning there has been a crash on the M8 leaving a lorry jackknifed near the Whitburn Junction causing queues in both directions.
The lorry ran into difficulties on one of Scotland's busiest motorways this morning causing major delays for rush hour commuters.
Police raced to the incident which happened on the M8 westbound between Whitburn and Heartlands interchange at around 5am today.
Inclement weather is forecast till around lunchtime today and drivers have been advised to take extra precautions if travelling.

One lane is still currently closed.

Drivers heading Eastbound are facing delays of up to 40 minutes, whilst those heading West are expected to be delayed for around 15 minutes.
Scottish Citylink also tweeted to inform passengers the delays meant services from Edinburgh to Glasgow were running 25 minutes late.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.55 am on Thursday, 10 February, 2022, police were called after a HGV lorry jack-knifed on the M8, westbound prior to J4a, Whitburn.
