A housing estate in West Lothian has began works for a new shop and other retail units to be built in the scheme, including a fish and chip shop - but residents of the estate are not happy.
Photos taken by an anonymous source today show the works getting underway by the builders contracted to the site, as cranes and JCBs litter the Heartlands housing estate.
On the West Lothian Council website, the planning permission reads: "Approval of matters specified in conditions of planning permission 2 retail/commercial buildings for use & Sui Generis hot food takeaway with access, landscaping and associated infrastructure."
