A busy West Lothian road has been closed in both directions following reports of a multi-vehicle collision, with emergency services still in attendance at the scene.
The A71 in East Calder, from the Langton Road junction to Oakbank Roundabout is currently closed due to the road traffic collision, with locals reporting huge queues of traffic building in the area.
The incident occurred at around 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 3, with West Lothian Council taking to social media to inform people of the closure. They posted: "Emergency Road Closure - A71 from junction to Langton Road, East Calder to Oakbank Roundabout.

"Please be aware a road closure is in place on the the A71 between the Oakbank Roundabout and the junction to Langton Road, East Calder following reports of a road traffic accident. Further updates to follow."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their attendance, with two appliances mobilised to assist with the aftermath of the crash.
One motorist reported that police were diverting traffic away from the Lizzie Brice's end of the A71 and towards East Calder, with traffic nose to tail.
Lothian buses have also issued an update on two of their services, saying that passengers onboard the X27 and X28 can expect delays in the Langton Road area due to congestion caused by the incident.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are currently in attendance alongside emergency service partners at an incident on the A71, near Oakbank, East Calder. “Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the area after receiving calls to assist at 1.17pm on Wednesday, August 3.”
A Police Scotland Spokesperson commented: "Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious road crash involving two vehicles on the A71 near East Calder. The A71 is closed at Oakbank roundabout and the traffic lights at Kirknewton. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if they can. Diversions are in place.
