A Bathgate gymnast has proven she can mix it with the best in Britain by scooping a remarkable five medals at the recent Disability British Championships.
Megan Docherty (17) bagged herself a gold and four two silvers at the recent event, held in Cardiff.
The West Lothian Artistic Gymnastics ace won gold in the women’s senior balance beam event as well as grabbing silver in the all-around, vault, uneven bars and floor routines to mark a sensational tournament in Wales.
The teenager, who last year won three gold medals at the Scottish Championships, showed no signs of rust in what was her first competition for several months.
And she followed that up with a host of medals in her recent club competition - winning overall gold as well as the beam, bar and vault categories. She also won a silver medal for her floor routine.
Proud mum Shona McIntyre commented: “She’s been working really hard on upgrading her moves and despite a lot of nerves, she performed very well in the competition and is now preparing for 2023.”
