A driver in West Lothian was caught out by police after they were found to have put children at risk in the back of the car.
Road Police from the Livingston station had been out on patrol on Thursday (June 30) when they stopped a vehicle out in the Polbeth area of West Calder.
Initially pulling over the vehicle for an exposed cord on both of the rear tyres, the driver was then found to have committed further offences regarding their passengers.
Upon inspection of the car, four children were found seated in the three seats at the back, with "two sharing one seatbelt."

In addition, one of the children was also sitting on the arm rest, which was being used as a makeshift booster seat, causing them a huge safety risk.
Officers also discovered that the vehicle did not have a valid MOT, and issued a warning to other drivers on social media on Friday (July 1.)

Sharing an image of the exposed tyres, police said: "Yesterday #LivingstonRP stopped a vehicle in Polbeth.
"Cord was exposed on both rear tyres. Four children were seated in the back, two sharing one seatbelt & one using the arm rest as a booster seat.
"Driver reported for X2 tyre offences Dangerous carriage of passengers. No MOT."
