West Lothian care home gives residents a sporting chance

Staff and residents at Heatherfield Nursing Home in Armadale marked International Women’s Sports Day with some fun and games.

The ladies were all encouraged to try out a range of different sports and had a ball!

Staff member Roz said: “We celebrated by encouraging our ladies to try their hand at various sports and they smashed it!”

Last week the home also marked Time to Talk Day, which is designed to encourage people to sit down and talk about mental Illness.

Staff put their own spin on it and got residents together for some Karaoke.

Roz added: “Singing beautiful and moving renditions of favourites such as ‘Loch Lomond’, ‘Oh Danny Boy’, ‘You Are My Sunshine’ and ‘Ally Bally’ was a great way to cleanse our souls and find an outlet for any emotions that were cooped up inside of us.

“We are so proud of our residents.”
